Professional Aircond Installation You Can Trust

Installing a new air conditioner is not just about mounting a box on the wall. A proper installation involves careful planning, precise piping work, correct electrical connections, proper drainage routing, and thorough system testing. A poorly installed aircond will give you problems for years — water leaks, inefficient cooling, noisy operation, and higher electricity bills.

At PJ Kool Aircond Service, we have been installing aircond units across Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, and the Klang Valley for over 20 years. Our senior technicians handle every installation from start to finish — from the initial site assessment to the final performance test. No subcontracting, no trainees, no shortcuts.

What We Install

Wall-Mounted Split Units

The most common type of residential aircond in Malaysia. A wall-mounted split unit consists of an indoor unit mounted on the wall and an outdoor compressor unit. We install these for bedrooms, living rooms, home offices, and small commercial spaces.

  • Available from 1.0 HP to 3.0 HP
  • Both inverter and non-inverter models
  • Single-split and multi-split configurations

Ceiling Cassette Units

Popular for offices, restaurants, retail spaces, and larger rooms where a wall-mounted unit would not provide adequate coverage. Ceiling cassette units distribute air in four directions for more even cooling.

  • Available from 2.0 HP to 6.0 HP
  • Ideal for spaces with false ceilings
  • Common in commercial and F&B environments

Multi-Split Systems

For homes or offices that need multiple indoor units but have limited outdoor space. A multi-split system connects two or more indoor units to a single outdoor compressor.

  • Reduces outdoor unit clutter
  • Ideal for condominiums and townhouses
  • Each indoor unit can be controlled independently

Brands We Install

We install all major aircond brands available in Malaysia. Our technicians are familiar with the installation requirements, specifications, and best practices for each brand:

Daikin — Japan’s leading aircond manufacturer, known for energy efficiency and quiet operation. Their inverter models are among the most popular in Malaysia. We install the full Daikin range including wall-mounted, ceiling cassette, and multi-split systems.

Panasonic — A trusted name in Malaysian homes. Panasonic airconds are known for their Nanoe-X air purification technology and reliable performance. Available in both inverter and non-inverter variants.

York — Popular for both residential and commercial applications. York units offer solid build quality and competitive pricing, making them a favourite among value-conscious buyers.

Acson — A Malaysian-made brand under Daikin group. Acson is a popular choice for reliability and local after-sales support. We install their full residential and light commercial range.

Mitsubishi — Premium build quality and advanced features. Mitsubishi Electric units are known for their durability and whisper-quiet operation.

Samsung, LG, Midea, Haier — We also install these popular brands and can advise on the best model for your specific requirements and budget.

Choosing the Right Aircond for Your Space

Selecting the right aircond is about more than just picking a brand. Here are the key factors our technicians assess during the free site visit:

Room Size and BTU Requirements

The cooling capacity of an aircond is measured in BTU (British Thermal Units). Choosing the right BTU rating ensures efficient cooling without wasting electricity:

Room SizeRecommended HPApproximate BTU
Up to 150 sq ft1.0 HP9,000 BTU
150 - 250 sq ft1.5 HP12,000 BTU
250 - 400 sq ft2.0 HP18,000 BTU
400 - 550 sq ft2.5 HP24,000 BTU
550 - 750 sq ft3.0 HP28,000 BTU

Note: Malaysia’s tropical climate means we typically recommend slightly higher BTU capacity compared to temperate countries. Factors like ceiling height, sun exposure, number of windows, and heat-generating equipment can increase the BTU requirement. Need help deciding? Check out our guide on how to choose the right HP for your aircond.

Inverter vs Non-Inverter

Inverter units adjust the compressor speed based on cooling demand. Once the room reaches the set temperature, the compressor slows down instead of turning off completely. This results in:

  • Lower electricity consumption (up to 40% savings)
  • More consistent room temperature
  • Quieter operation
  • Higher upfront cost

Non-inverter units run the compressor at full speed and cycle it on and off to maintain temperature. They are:

  • More affordable upfront
  • Suitable for rooms used occasionally
  • Slightly louder during operation

For rooms used more than 6 hours daily, we generally recommend inverter models for the long-term electricity savings. For a more detailed comparison, read our guide on inverter vs non-inverter aircond.

Indoor and Outdoor Unit Placement

Our technician will assess the best placement for both the indoor and outdoor units, considering:

  • Indoor unit: Wall strength, airflow coverage, distance from bed or work area, aesthetic positioning
  • Outdoor unit: Ventilation clearance, drainage routing, noise considerations for neighbours, protection from direct sun and rain
  • Piping route: Shortest practical path between indoor and outdoor units, concealment options, wall penetration points

Our Installation Process

Step 1 — Free Site Assessment

Contact us via WhatsApp at 012-2252 623 with your requirements. We will arrange a free site visit where our technician measures the room, assesses the piping route, checks the electrical supply, and identifies the optimal indoor and outdoor unit positions.

Step 2 — Quote and Unit Recommendation

Based on the site assessment, we provide a detailed quote covering the installation cost and recommend the appropriate aircond brand, model, and horsepower for your space. We explain the options so you can make an informed decision.

Step 3 — Professional Installation

On installation day, our senior technicians handle every aspect:

  • Wall bracket mounting — heavy-duty brackets are securely anchored to hold the indoor unit
  • Core drilling — precise wall penetration for piping and drainage
  • Copper piping — professionally bent and insulated copper pipes connect the indoor and outdoor units
  • Electrical wiring — safe, code-compliant wiring from your electrical panel to the aircond
  • Drainage routing — proper gradient and routing to ensure condensate drains away cleanly
  • Outdoor unit setup — secure mounting on concrete pad or wall bracket with proper clearance for airflow

Step 4 — Vacuuming and Gas Charge

Before the system is activated, the refrigerant lines are vacuumed to remove moisture and air. The correct amount of refrigerant gas (R32 for most modern units) is then charged into the system.

Step 5 — Testing and Handover

The unit is run for at least 30 minutes while our technician monitors:

  • Temperature output at the indoor unit
  • Compressor operation and amperage readings
  • Drainage flow
  • Noise levels
  • Remote control functions

Once everything checks out, we walk you through the basic operation and maintenance tips for your new unit.

Installation FAQ!

How much does aircond installation cost?
Installation pricing is quote-based because it depends on several factors: piping length between indoor and outdoor units, electrical wiring requirements, wall material (concrete, brick, or drywall), and the number of units being installed. WhatsApp us at 012-2252 623 for a free site assessment and accurate quote.
What size aircond do I need for my room?
As a general guide: 1.0 HP suits rooms up to 150 sq ft, 1.5 HP for 150 to 250 sq ft, 2.0 HP for 250 to 400 sq ft, and 2.5 HP for 400 to 550 sq ft. However, factors like ceiling height, sun exposure, and heat-generating appliances can affect the BTU requirement. Our technician can assess this during the free site visit.
Should I get an inverter or non-inverter aircond?
Inverter units cost more upfront but save significantly on electricity bills over time because they adjust compressor speed based on cooling demand. For rooms used more than 6 hours daily, an inverter unit is usually the better long-term investment. Non-inverter units are more affordable upfront and suitable for rooms used occasionally.
Can you relocate an existing aircond unit?
Yes, we can relocate existing units. This involves a pump down of refrigerant gas, disconnection, removal, reinstallation at the new location, and retesting. Relocation pricing depends on the new piping length and wiring requirements.
